Doug Fillis | Founder, Accelerate Sports Ventures

Doug Fillis leads Accelerate Sports Ventures. Fillis blends his experience of working on campus in athletics administration with his time in pro sports and in the agency world to provide a one-of-a-kind skill set to support Name, Image and Likeness and Multi-Media Rights clients. Additionally, his involvement in $1B of multi-media and brand partnership agreements provides the foundation for Accelerate to deliver comprehensive solutions for the future of college athletics. Prior to launching Accelerate, Fillis was a member of the executive leadership team at IMG College responsible for its $400M multi-media rights business. Fillis oversaw and transformed the East region significantly increasing sales, revenue, and profitability. Fillis not only led the sales group but locked arms with the sales team and personally negotiated $17M in new business. Fillis also led on rights acquisition, negotiating the only new A5 agreement that IMG College secured in five years and extended seven other agreements while adding over 60 years of partnership to the portfolio. Before joining IMG College, Fillis helped launch New York City FC. The expansion soccer team owned by Manchester FC and the New York Yankees. He spearheaded all of the marketing, branding and sales efforts leading into the inaugural season. The club secured over $20M in multi-media revenue, delivered eight founding partnerships, set single game and season records for merchandise sales and landed the largest kit deal in league history. Fillis spent the first eight years of his career on campus in leadership roles with the United States Military Academy and Rutgers University, respectively. While at West Point, Fillis led the fundraising arm to all-time heights, created premium hospitality and tailgate businesses, worked on bringing the Army-Notre Dame football game to Yankee Stadium and collaborated with Navy athletics on the business plan around the Army-Navy game that delivered a $55M agreement. At Rutgers, Fillis worked on the leadership team under Tim Pernetti that delivered Rutgers’ transformative move into the Big Ten Conference, $65M IMG College agreement, $100M athletics fundraising campaign, creation of the premium tailgate experience Block R Party, and first-of-their-kind deals at Rutgers in apparel, F&B, naming rights and malt beverage. Fillis holds a B.A. from Sacred Heart University, M.A. from Iona College and a Graduate Certificate from NYU. Since 2011, Fillis has been a member of the NYU adjunct faculty in the Robert Preston Tisch Institute for Global Sport, and in 2016 was named Alumnus of Year by the Sports Business Society. Fillis is married to his wife Jessica. Together they are the proud parents of Harper, Emerson and Wes and reside in Bergen County, New Jersey.

Greg Nejmeh | President, Accelerate Sports Ventures

Head of Football Evaluation & Advisory

Greg Nejmeh is a football executive with over 16 years of NFL front office experience, most recently serving as Co-Director of Player Personnel with the New York Jets. In that role, he oversaw pro personnel operations, contributed to college scouting and draft strategy, and played a central role in roster construction, free agency planning, and player evaluation across multiple coaching staffs and front office regimes. Nejmeh has led free agency meetings, built evaluation systems, managed in-season roster decisions, and worked closely with coaching, football administration, and executive leadership to align personnel strategy with team objectives. He is also recognized for developing internal scouting systems and processes that enhanced organizational efficiency and decision-making. Now serving as President at Accelerate Sports Ventures, Nejmeh leads the firm’s football advisory vertical, applying NFL-level evaluation principles to the college game to support roster construction, transfer portal strategy, and player valuation. His approach is rooted in objective, film-based analysis and structured decision-making, designed to support — not replace — existing staff while helping programs operate with greater clarity, speed, and confidence.

John Willi | President, Accelerate Sports Media

John is a proven leader and business builder in the sports industry with over 25 years of experience, from the NFL to premier high school sports. He brings unique and extensive expertise in brand marketing and corporate partnerships across the sports landscape with professional sports franchises, NCAA/college sports, and Global Marketing Agencies. At Accelerate John leads the growth of our corporate partnerships, high school businesses, and broadcasting – including the SFC Network and Accelerate Sports Network. Applying high standards and best practices from across major league sports properties, he provides our schools, conferences, and brand partners with a first-class experience in high school and amateur sports. With Playfly Sports, John developed and led commercial sales projects for marquee sponsorship assets including naming rights, jersey patches and World Cup partnerships – and provided strategic direction to properties and brand partners. Previously at IMG College, he drove local and regional corporate partnerships while leading multiple college properties. As GM at Rutgers University, John secured several founding partnerships and naming rights, and built the school into one of IMG’s top performing properties. Rutgers-IMG partnership revenue reached record levels with an unprecedented 145% growth in 6 years, and John was awarded IMG’s President’s Cup Award. In the NFL with the New York Jets he secured and managed integrated corporate partnerships as Director of Corporate Partnerships, and beginning his career in Minor League Baseball, ran several industry leading teams and was recognized with multiple national and regional Executive of the Year awards.

Humble Lukanga | Partner, Accelerate Sports Ventures

Lameck Humble Lukanga was born in a small village in Uganda, where he spent the first decade of his life enduring genocide, famine and extreme poverty. At the age of 11, he and his family were granted a political asylum, allowing them to come to the United States to seek refuge, which he calls “the biggest blessing of my life.” Since, Humble has gone on to become a venerable leader in finance. Humble owns Life Line Financial Group, a wealth management firm servicing world-class performers and leaders in business, sports and entertainment. In addition to Life Line Financial, Humble serves on the board of trustees for the University of New Mexico. He holds both a Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico, received a Personal Finance Planning degree from UCLA and holds the CFP credential. More recently, he has been on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Business Manager list for 3 years in a row. Humble is passionate about social entrepreneurship, financial literacy, human rights, freedom and philanthropy, with a dedicated focus on the orphans of Uganda. He continues to serve on various company boards, helping to shape strategy and execution, and considers himself a teacher and an ambassador of Hope. He has come far from the slums of Masaka, Uganda and he continues to inspire along the way.

Julia Fisch | Vice President of Operations, Accelerate Sports Ventures

Julia Fisch is the Vice President of Operations at Accelerate Sports Ventures, where she oversees strategic projects across NIL, education, athlete marketing, and sports media. Prior to joining Accelerate, she spent three and a half years managing NIL campaigns, leading partnerships from brand strategy and athlete acquisition through campaign execution and logistics. A former professional tennis player and NCAA Division I student-athlete, Julia earned her Masters in Sports Business from New York University. Her experience as both an athlete and sports business professional gives her a practical perspective on the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics and athlete branding.
